Mt. Hood Meadows

Carl Perron Architects

Provided structural engineering for a new 1,200-sf structure for the Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Patrol at approximately the 6,500-ft elevation of Mt. Hood. Constructed on a steeply sloped site, the ground floor and roof were wood framed construction over a daylight basement. Special design consideration, large eves, drift stops, extended gable overhangs, and walk-off grates, was used due to the severe high wind speeds and large snow loads that the climate experiences. The project was completed in Fall 2007 in time for the ski season.
